What one doesn’t do the other does. They are a great team.

You are a very gifted writer and it's fun following your progress.

What hunting in particular do you plan on doing?

Do you get much wildlife walking by your house?

Tell us a bit of history about Curt since you are both in this together.

Excellent choice on vehicles. I also love your barn.

All the best to you both at Christmas and may this next year bring many blessings for you guys.

Thank you!

Deer and black bear, mostly. Curt got me a recurve bow for my birthday, I’m hoping to become good enough to shoot hare and grouse with it next season.

Here’s a whole writeup about Curt and I ‘the Team’

Happy Holidays! 🏔🎄

I just discovered your work/project. I love what you guys are doing. I live in the Adirondack mountains of New York. A little over 17 years ago, we moved here from Pennsylvania to start a new life. Your journey reminds me a bit of ours, although different. We were building a hospitality business. We now have two inns and a small restaurant we call the Monday Tuesday grill! Yes, it’s only open on Monday and Tuesday :-)

I’ve always wanted to do a bit more of the farming/ranch type of living. I’ve been too busy building hospitality part of it. But truth be told it’s still part of my dream. I look forward to following your story. Best of wishes for 2025.

Just a funny sidenote. My wife’s name is Amy Jan. At first I thought I had stumbled on one of her post and and was quite confused for a bit😂

Many blessings!

Thank you for sending that link! It's nice to see folks working as a team.

Bow hunting is nice because it's so much quieter. Lol

It was a great trip to the mountain this year and I do have to apologize for bringing Covid to the mountain. If I come in 25 I hope to be a little more productive. Will bring a machete to help clear out some underbrush. Have a wonderful Christmas and a Very Happy and prosperous New Year.

I love your story. I would just LOVE to have a homestead and be self-sufficient. One day! I also adore BC so the fact you’re doing this there makes reading your updates even more enjoyable 😍 inspiring me to keep with the baby steps towards greater self sufficiency.
