OMG! Your cat rode your snowmobile? That's hilarious. Butchering is something I've yet to do. Like you I'm excited but scared. I guess that day will come... Stay warm.
Great job on the addition, the wood work looks awesome with the large beams. Hope the water storage works out for you this winter.
Congratulations on butchering the pig, that is a big job! Last winter I did a medium sized deer and that was a lot of work, so I can imagine an entire pig.
Looking forward to reading your stories and comparing challenges over the next year. Wishing you and Curt a healthy, successful, prosperous, satisfying, and happy next year.
I think you should go with Hardi plank siding instead of wood as well as metal soffits with the metal roofing. Wood planks are probably cheaper but fire resistance is an issue for anyone living in the bush, especially with fire insurance being so expensive when you are not in a fire protection zone. I have know people who lost it all and were not able to rebuild. It's tough starting over with nothing.
The front room looks great! Congratulations on another year living your dream. Here's to many more to come! Happy New Year!
🍻Thank you!! Happy New year! 🎉

Hahaha yep! I still can't believe how good she was about it. She wasn't even in a rush to escape once we finally stopped.
That day will come and it will be awesome! When it does let me know and I'll offer some tips ;)
I'm looking forward to following along in your adventures too.
