Spring Stresses
A Quick Saturday Morning Update
Thank you so much for following, commenting, liking and subscribing 💫
It seems like it’s happening all at once. The deciduous trees suddenly have leaves, grass is growing, and wild flowers are popping up everywhere. They don’t seem to have noticed the lack of rain and snow melt, but I certainly have.

The spring box we built a few years ago has failed, and we’ve been working feverishly to get water again. A new plan is in motion to catch the water using natural mud and clay, and dig totes into the ground downhill so that they feed via gravity.

While digging, I’ve set aside a pile of gorgeous black dirt to bring to the house, as well as a pile of clay. Something about seeing natural clay come out of the ground always gets my creative cogs spinning.
It’s been a crazy week, the farm is on water rations, and my little trees are looking dry. I’m overdue for a shower and hoping to have enough water for one tonight - after another day of getting muddy (but more realistically, it’ll be tomorrow).
It’s been challenging, a bit stressful, but we’re having fun figuring out this new problem and playing in the muck. It’s left me no time to write, and I suspect the coming weeks will be similar.
Let me know - do you like quick weekly updates from the mountain?

My opinion about you doing weekly or monthly updates is irrelevant. Do what you have to do to keep living the mountain life. Instead of using a calendar, use events and inspiration to time your chats with us. Fingers crossed for water!
Very stressful, but we know you two will come up with a plan. Take care.
