Awesome!

You are lucky to have stinging nettle there. Has good medicinal properties, and made for awesome compost for your garden! ...if you do decide to grow things again.

Haha I’ll always give growing things a try! I loooove and miss fresh tomatoes.. there are a few in the greenhouse holding on for dear life. I’m still looking forward to experimental greenhouses and finding more hardy varieties.

I've found an idea I want to try at my place. There is a farmer in the prairies that grows all year long without heating or electricity. I've tried to get a hold of him, maybe you'll have better luck. Seems the concept is simple, just need to search out the materials.

Lambsquarter used to grow in our gardens in the Slocan Valley. Always considered it a weed. Had a beautiful plant here this year andI pulled it out to make room for my Dahlias. I feel so guilty! Maybe I’ll have another grow in my garden, and I eat the thing!

Stinging nettles grew like crazy there too, but they were always attaching themselves to my arms and legs. They sure can burn the skin. Think I’ll enjoy eating them. Just to get even.

Great read Amy. Really interesting.

Don’t give up on a real garden. Maybe use the side of the hill behind your place. Could have more soil.
